About me

Strategic thinker with a talent for aligning support operations with business objectives to drive growth and customer satisfaction. An emotionally intelligent leader committed to fostering a positive work culture that nurtures talent, encourages innovation, and delivers exceptional results.

My ethos

I believe in prioritising authenticity in the workplace, where my team members feel empowered to be themselves. I think it’s important to champion open communication, encouraging my team to engage in discussions, share ideas, and provide feedback. I acknowledge the unique challenges of remote work and advocate for methods like radical candour to navigate difficult conversations.

As a leader, I recognise the importance of continuous learning and encourage the use of personal development plans. Providing resources like online courses and workshops can help team members develop their skills. Diversity is something I value because it makes teams richer and more effective, so I am committed to building inclusive teams.

It’s important to maintain a healthy work-life balance, so I encourage my team to prioritise self-care, manage stress, and ask for help when needed. I lead by example in this regard, demonstrating the value of these practices to my team.

Personal stuff

I’m a musician. I used to play bass in punk and industrial metal bands (photos on request!). These days, I use field recordings, generative soft synths, and various hardware to create abstract dark ambient soundscapes.

I love to walk and regularly cover 10-20 miles on the North Norfolk coast on weekends. I’ve also walked across Britain in 5 days on Hadrian’s Wall; that was fun.

I have been an art lover and artist for a lifetime and have a small collection of modern abstract art from the 1930s to the present day. I create odd pieces using collage and impasto in a Jamie Reid meets Pollock in a Middle Ages chapel vibe.

I’m an avid reader, but I seem to be focused on nonfiction, including postmodern philosophy, Fenland folklore, and folk horror.

Oh, and I talk—a lot.
