As I’m just getting back into vinyl – I can’t buy anything I already own as it’s still up in the attic – I bought a basic, portable record-player from Amazon, just to how I got on with it.
The good news is that it has a proper level line out, which means that it connects to the Sonos Connect Amp in the lounge and I can stream across the whole house.
My office is on the 3rd floor and our lounge on the 2nd, so putting an LP on is a great way to naturally timebox as I keep having to get up and go down a flight of stairs to turn over to the other side.
The added randomness of how long a side of an album will last keeps things interesting as well. I’ve promised myself to finish this post listening to side A from John Grant‘s “Pale Green Ghosts”.
